Senate Passes Tax Credit Extension!
On Wednesday, June 16, 2010 the Senate voted and passed an amendment, which will extend the tax credit deadline for homebuyers from June 30, 2010 to September 30, 2010.
The House of Representatives passed an earlier version of the bill in December, 2009.  Now, the Senate is working to resolve the various issues between the two bills.
To benefit from this extension, homebuyers would have had to enter into contract by April 30, 2009. 
The amendment comes amid concern that the credit caused significant backlog for lenders who are working with hundreds of thousands of homebuyers attempting to take advantage of the credit.
